Mel's House, Houston, Texas

A traditional style, single family residence built to LEED for Homes and Green Building Initiative Houston standards. Follow the construction online and in person as GreenHaus Builders and partners stage a series of open houses over the next several months. 99K House

APA is working closely with the winning design team of the 99K House Competition to identify materials and options to construct a house in Houston's historic Fifth Ward. The competition, sponsored by Rice University and the Houston chapter of AIA challenged participants to create an innovative design for a small house that is affordable, sustainable, and energy efficiient.

Champion

APA has partnered with Champion Builders of Baton Rouge, Louisiana to demonstrate advantages of raised wood floor construction vs. slab-on-grade. The raised home offers an additional 279 square feet of extended living space in two porches front and rear.

B.C. Daniels

APA is overseeing the construction of two raised wood floor homes in Mobile, Alabama. This is part of an extensive cost study for the NAHB Research Center. B.C. Daniels, a veteran contractor and real estate developer is working with APA on the two homes which will be open for tours at various stages.

Habitat Build, Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project

APA participated with the Habitat for Humanity of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, host affiliate for the 25th Anniversary Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project to build 30 new homes, renovate 30 additional homes and frame 48 for future delivery in Pascagoula and Biloxi, Mississippi.
